Anna Ruby Falls

We took a day to go hike up to see the Anna Ruby Falls in the North Georgia mountains. We were prepared for weather in the 30s but it ended up being quite pleasant — probably because there was no wind to deal with.

An FYI for anyone going to visit — they have changed the fees. It’s no longer $4 per car but instead $2 per person older than 12 years of age.

I got a chance to use my 6-stop ND filter.

Martial Arts by the Water

Last week I spent a couple of hours at the river with two martial artists. I’ve shot at this location before during the summer months when the color pallet is vibrant with green but this time the autumn leaves are falling and the colors are warmer. I love the details from the tree roots and limbs — I feel it adds a bit of mystery to the overall feeling of the images. Here are a few shots from the day.

Out and About in Atlanta

It’s been an interesting and fun time so far this autumn in Georgia. Pumpkin patches, small town festivals, the 3-Day Walk for cancer research, Pride Parade and the Little Five Points Halloween Parade among others. And there’s much more in between but quite impossible to get to all of them though I try :D

I heard about the Little Five Points Parade last year and was excited about checking it out this year. I hadn’t realized it was such a fun family event! Definitely on the calendar for next year and I’m sure the kids will enjoy dressing up for it too. If you haven’t experienced it yet, put it on your Atlanta To-Do list!

Michelle Bachman costume was a hit.

Block superheros in action! These were crazy cool to see coming down the street.

The Atlanta Pride Parade was filled with passionate energy, love and many touching stories. I think everyone should experience it first hand. This first shot shows the crowd anticipating the arrival of the motorcycles that lead the parade.

Education is key for everything in life. There were many organizations represented at the parade with that spirit in mind.

This group is called Angel Action Atlanta. They walked in complete silence and it was quite a powerful statement. Their message is simple: Stop the Hate.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure — The 3-Day Walk. Some words that come to mind: inspire, bravery, determination, perseverance and heart.

Never give up, never surrender.

EMS dressed appropriately for the occasion :D

Full of Personality

I had fun hanging out with this cute little 2 year old and his grandma. Full of personality and he’s obviously used to getting his picture taken cause he’d stop and say “cheeeeeeese.” :D

This is where the studio shooting now happens. A modest space that’s just right.
